On a journey east, through the vast labyrinth of unspoiled jungles, we found him on the edge of death. With his final breaths he whispered his message quiet yet deafening in scope.
A verse in a language unknown to us, yet easily deciphered, changing our lives forever. As we listened, a dangerous path he described. At its close he diminished.
The message was ours to bear. As guardians charged with keeping the flame. Preparing to risk it all to find it, a journey of body and mind we began.

A world within the mountains and
Underneath an ancient sea
A place of legend that few have known
A dying man's wish bestowed us the key

The tales, they say no man can survive
To dismiss them would surely lead to our demise

Onward through countless dangers we journeyed, into the belly of the earth. Apparitions from advanced civilizations of the past guided us through trials that defied known science.
Finally we laid our eyes on the wonder of the annals of existence. An immense library filled with books of gold scripted in a language that had only graced our ears.
A vast history it described, telling tales unknown to us dating before mankind. We filled our minds with its knowledge, ceasing for nothing. Time did not exist in this place.

The tales they say no man can get out
To show the world exactly how it came about

With treasure beyond measure we made our escape
Back through the labyrinth to the surface air
Eyes burning from the light of the day
Desperately longing to end this affair
The jungle, with malice, covered our tracks
It seemed the knowledge would be our death tax
For all at once the years returned
Will the secrets die after all we had learned?
Decades had passed, sealing our fate
With bodies decrepit and barely a breath
Conscience fading to a lucid state
All we can do is wait here for death

Then the morning brought a traveler our way
The sacred message was all that I could say
